Punto Banco, an alternative name for Baccarat, is played in a neighborhood environment where everybody is focused on the result of only one hand. You can bet on one of two kinds of bets, either banker (Banco) or player (Punto). The object of the baccarat game is to get as close to nine as possible. An online dealer deals the cards for the game.
First what does it mean to bet as a player? Players can bet on the Punto or Banco. The dealer gives you two hands and you then have to bet which one will win, or bet that there will be a tie. Dealers can only gamble on Banco. The Payoff is even money: meaning, that if you bet $1 and receive $2 on your money, in addition to your original dollar.
When Banco (dealer) is bet on and won, you receive money less 5% for the casino because Banco wins more often than Punto.
Playing Steps
• In Baccarat, your hand contains 2-3 cards.
• The dealer (Banco) holds 2 (two) cards, both cards face down and deals you two more cards.
• Next, look at your two cards and return them to the dealer, who shows both sets of cards. The dealer proceeds to announce the winner.
• When a 'Natural' is dealt, a hand of 8 or 9 (in Baccarat, nine is the highest possible hand to win) the dealing stops. For other numbers, the casino has the card dealer deal an extra third card. Casinos have conditions and rules about when and if to deal a third card.
• The player or the dealer is plays against the casino just like everyone else. The high-scoring player is the Baccarat winner. The casino pays out after collecting losing bets.
Rules
• Aces have the value of only 1 (one).
• All cards with more than 9, face cards and 10s, have worthless.
• Every card less than 10 is worth its face value amount.
• Any card count that reaches into the double digit drops the left digit. For example, 17 becomes 7 and 27 also becomes 7). Card suits don't count - just the numbers.
